411 Update: Biznik
The tagline says it all: Business Networking that doesn’t suck.
Biznik is like online sleep-a-away camp the upstart/entrepreneurs community.
It’s where you go to do all sorts of activities – like networking, business building, ideas brainstorming to help your business and others.
Unlike most job-related social networking sites, this one is about connecting independent professionals with like-minded worker bees. In other words, the site is to help grow a business, not fill job posts.
Organized by city (Canada & the US), specialty or field, if you need help sprucing up your website or organizing your finances (as examples), you can find another like-minded individual who knows their stuff enough to help you better yours.
Membership can be as cheap as zero or as much as $24/month (pittance in the scheme of things). What you get is access to a resource-heavy site, all the members you want, and the ability to network the services you can contribute to someone else’s business.
It’s a pretty nifty tool for young and established businesses alike. Best of all? The offline networking events, if your eyeballs are getting as dry as mine staring at a computer all day, or ya know to put a handshake to a profile.
Check out Biznik now, or know it’s saved in 411 for you for next time.
